The energy for the device is provided by a re-chargeable battery and the soft memory foam ear tip ensures a comfortable and tight fit into the ear to maximise the passive noise cancelling effect.
QuietOn provides optimal noise reduction across the whole audible spectrum, however they are most effective for low frequency sounds such as snoring or ambient sounds coming through walls.
Active Noise Control (ANC), Active Noise Cancelling, and Active Noise Reduction (ANR) are all methods where an unwanted sound is reduced by adding another sound specifically made to cancel it out. The graph above shows how this works to neutralise the annoying sounds of snoring.
QuietOn Sleep includes the option to switch between the silencing and the hearing mode.
When using the hearing mode, you can communicate with others and there is no attenuation.
When the sound level exceeds the harmful level, the hearing mode starts to reduce volume and passive attenuation starts to take effect. The active attenuation is not used in the hearing mode.
In silencing mode, both active and passive attenuation are in use.
SNORING NOISE MOUNTAIN
The dark grey shaded area shows the noise that you can hear such as snoring or other distracting noises.
NOISE AFTER FOAM EARPLUG
The mid grey shaded area shows the amount of noise reduction that is afforded by using standard foam earplugs to try and block the sound
NOISE AFTER QUIETON EARBUDS
The yellow shaded area shows the massive reduction in snoring noise that can be heard after using Noise Cancelling Technology.
